Jai Nitai! Sri Krishnananda Das Babaji, also known as Kedarnath Raya, is a famed Bhagavat pathak from Sri Pathbari Ashram. His samadhi can be found on the ground floor outside the museum. Some of his lectures have been transcribed and placed in two volumes titled, Bhagavati Katha. I scanned one of the lectures called, Sriman Mahaprabhura Karuna and posted it here in .pdf format for the pleasure of the Vaisnavas. Click here to download.

Thanks for this, Sakhi. It turns out that I have a copy of that work. Subrataji must have sent me a copy when he sent me copies of your gurudeva's works. Scanning through those two volumes in my possession, I am most impressed. His work should be made available for bhaktas in English. Until then the Bangla will do.

Jai Nitai!
It will really be a marvelous day in the history of Vaisnavism in the west when all these types of books are getting translated. Can you imagine what it would have been like to have started the path of bhakti hearing the Bhagavat Purana from Mahatmas like him? What a difference it would have made!

Jay Nitai,
Sakhi Ji , is it possible to make a copy of those CDs of Srimad Krishnannada Das Babaji ( Pandit KedarNath Raya) and send it to Nitai Das Ji? That will be great. I am sure that Nitai das ji would enjoy a lot of his speech and would try to make those CDs available with English translation to Western world. Those are gems.
To add few little more information about Krishnananda Ji , he was one of the phenomenal Bhagavat Pathak and Sadhak in Gaudiya Vasihnava world. To have him in a Bhagavat Katha Festival was like getting Suka Himself and organizer used to rush to have him in the Bhagavatam Festival. It was a prize catch to have him in those event and organizers used to spent days for preparation in having him in the festival.
Even when he used to travel yearly basis in Vrindavan from Bengal , sidhdha Mahatmas from remote place of Braja mandal used to come out of their Bhajan Kutir to hear his recitation of Bhagavatam. His lectures at Jay Sing Ghera of RadhaRaman Goswamis of Vrindavan was like a legend, people even still relishes how Braja Basis and Bhaktas used to attend the Bhagavat Patha given by him with the preparation of towel, cloth etc. just to erase the tears from their own eyes. This I heard by myself from Brindavan while some Mahatma talking about his remembrance to me.
Even when I went to Govardhana to Sidhdha Monohar Das Baba’s asram, and when I revealed that I am from PathBari , the first and foremost comment I received from Sadhus there that Pandit Kedar Pandit came here for Bhagavat Patha. Such a profound influence he made in the Gaudiya Vaishnava world covering Bengal, Orissa and Brindavan.
Many Advaita Vadis after hearing his lecture turned to a pure devotee and after getting teaching of Bhagavata they themselves become MahaBhagavat and Pandit. One of the such famous Mahatma was BrahmaCharini Bela Devi who was very famous Sannyasini and Sadhika at RamaKrishna Math Adyapith temple of Dakshineswar and a highly acclaimed Sanskrit Scholar in Advaita Vedanata. Once she came to Pathbari for Darshan of Sri Nitai Gaur deities and instantly attracted to lecture was being given by Kedar Baba at that time. At first instance of hearing the refutation of Advaita Vada from Kedar Baba she started to cry seeing the destruction of her own long cherished faith of Shankara’s Advaita Vada and left the place putting fingers to her ears. But she was constantly being attracted by the speech, delivery and sweet appearance of Kedar Baba and eventually that made her coming back to meet again. Later she studied the Bhagavatam under his guidance and become Bhakti Margi and enjoyer of Madhurya Rasa as distributed by Sriman Mahaprabhu. She wrote many books on Bhakti afterwards and even she tried to render some of the ground braking speeches as given by Kedar Pandit in written form in Bengali which she publishes at Later Time.
She also wrote a very valuable book on Kedar Baba with many prominent scholars view on Kedar Baba's illuminated Authority on Bhagavatam and his contribution.
One of the very famous and prominent novel writers in Bengal and later moved to spiritual kingdom Sri Sanjib Chattopadhyaya has written about Kedar Baba while forwarding one of his lecture in Book form " If somebody wants to immersed himself in the sea of Bhakti, one must go to Barahanagar Pathbari to hear the speech of Bhagavatam from Kedar Pandit, when Kedar Pandit starts speech on Bhagavatam all the scripture , upanishads , puranas manifests themselves in deities and anxiously wait in a queue near Kedar Baba with the hope of getting called by Baba at any time."
He was such a scholar and deeply realised Sadhaka that he used to always immersed himself in Bhagavatam , when he used to start deilverying the speech , he used to close his eyes and delivered the vision of Bhagavatam from his inner Kingdom of Bhava Bhakti and opened his eyes after finishing the entire delivery without looking at the Bhagavatm in front of him for single time. Entire Bhagavatam used to reside on tip of his tongs.
Although being such a great scholar Kedar Baba never wrote a single Line on Sastra by himself following his Sri GuruDeva Namcharyya Sripad Ram Das Babaji’s instruction which was “ Do not create anything new but chew whatever leftover available from our Goswamis”
His life story was also astonishing. Even his disappearance from this mortal world also full of beauty. He has maintained good health throughout his life till the last day and on the day of his disappearance he arrange distribution of every of his belongings ( generally Granthas , Manuscripts etcs ) to appropriate persons of Pathbari by his own hands and suddenly declared he would leave the body that day. Without a single trace of illness, sickness, pain or agony he disappeared from this world remembering the Lord of Bhagavatam.
PS: famous Sannyasini and well respected Sadhika Scholar Brahmacharani Bela devi throughout her life expressed her debt to Pandit Kedar Baba to make her enter into the Kingdom of Bhakti. Few months Back she entered in NityaLila at Dakshineswar Adiyapith Temple. Jay Jay Sri NitaiChand

Jai Nitai! If Nitai Das Ji so desires, I don't mind arranging for copies of the CDs. Only little prob is that I gave 6 of the 11 to Bisakha who now has them in the US. Thanks for the great life history of Kedar Baba. It was such a joy to hear. I was going to ask you Subrata for some background info on Kedar Baba, as I knew I had many of the facts mixed up in my mind, to include it as sort of an introduction to the pdf. I didn't want to disturb your busy schedule, and lo and behold! You make an entire post about him and his accomplishments. Wonderful! What year did Kedar Baba enter nitya-lila? At Path Bari who is his disciple? Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single person.

Maybe we can copy the ones she has then.

Jai Nitai!
So great! That would work out well. I'll get the ones I have copied and ship them off with the books of Sundarananda Vidyavinod. I imagine the sannyasi from GGM will return the books soon and I will be able to prepare the package. If there are any other books you may be in need of now is the time to let me know. I may be able to find some things here at Radhakund.

Jai Nitai! Sorry, I am just now reading this thread. I have been very occupied with family stuff the last couple of weeks. I would be more than happy to send copies of the lectures your way, Nitaiji! Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it over to Kirksville due to lack of $$ and mode of transportation. I sure hoped to... well, maybe next time.

Hari gives Himself to those who worship Him. To those who do not worship He gives nothing. Just hear Hari katha, devoting oneself to Him all day and night and He enters and sweeps away impurities dating millions of lifetimes back, as payment. He is SO reciprocative, and grateful. Names of Hari given by the blessed guru has same effect. I read everything I could get on Hari, esp. books like these inspired by people who lived in our times. It's the highest. Real kind of him to translate.(I wonder if he is using software? He does a big batch in no time.)
