Yes, great Hari katha. I really enjoyed the reading and explanations regarding the 'srnvatAm svakathA Krsna...' sloka, and how he crossed referenced that with the Gita verse 'udAsInavadAsi....' Marvelous! Looking forward to reading more and hope you will publish in book form.

We give ourselves for people in this world, and the result = family members treat you like their bound slaves. Others remove you from their lives once they find something more exciting.
People generally use you to satisfy their self interest. Of course we go along because we are getting some sort of temp benefit or pleasure, and its our nature to serve, so we serve them. This is the great entrapment of delusion.
Parental love is a bit selfless. (but many parents pressure you into professions like doctor or scientist to aggrandize their ego.) They are selfishly motivated. They have children to expand their ego. It gives them a sense of immortality and the child is expected to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams.
Krishna's love is not motivated like this. Any service you do for him, he repays by giving himself. He immediately destroys maya and sits in your heart, bestowing ananda shakti. And a host of other benefits..His is PURE LOVE.

Here is the latest version of this translation. I have not been able to work on it for a while, but I have revived my efforts. I hope to finish this first, very interesting essay in a few days. Sri Krsnananda Das Babaji

Jai Sri Krishna
Thanks for your work. What a great service you are doing for the GV community.
I've saved it for later reading.
I have to say this. If anyone wants a guide on the CV path, I recommend Nitaidasji. He has the knowledge and the right attitude to help one to explore this great spiritual tradition.
My only caveat is this: please clarify with him on his position on the ontology of Krishna. Nitaiji, I'm kidding here but I think my suggestion is a very practical one.

My only caveat is this: please clarify with him on his position on the ontology of Krishna. Nitaiji, I'm kidding here but I think my suggestion is a very practical one. Kind of you to say, malati-di, but I am not a worthy guide. Nor do I want the job. In order to be a guide one is expected to make certain claims which I am not at ease in making. People want certainty and that is what I lack. I cannot claim with certainty that Krsna really exists. Others claim to know it, but that is their knowledge not mine. Because some people whom I deeply respect claim that Krsna is real I keep open that possibility and I continue to give Krsna an opportunity to convince me. So far he has not done a very good job. The texts he sends are clearly not what they say they are. The universe is clearly able to operate quite well without his visible presence. Perhaps everything is running because of his invisible hand, but what good is that? The hand is invisible. I remain therefore unconvinced but I also remain committed to allowing him to convince me. Eventually he will have to show himself and say: "You idiot! Here I am. Are you happy now!" Then of course I will be happy.

Here at long last is that first essay/lecture by Baba Krsnananda Dasji. It is finally done, though it still needs some polishing and refinement. It ends very sweetly. I hope you all enjoy it. Looking ahead, I think some of the other essays in the book will also be interesting reads. Hopefully, they won't take me so long. Sri Krsnananda Das Babaji

Nitai Dassji - I have downloaded the pdf twice but each time it will not open. I get this: "Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." Kindly see if it can be fixed or kindly send me one to my email? Thank you!

Sorry, baba. Try it again. I just uploaded once more. Is anyone else having this same problem?
Oh. I just noticed that Subrataji is not having any problems.

Thanks, Visakha. That was a challenging essay to translate. Unfortunately, it is not well edited in the original and sometimes I found it difficult to understand what was being said. Thanks to some discussions with Subrataji, I got a better understanding of it. Still, there are some things I am not happy with. For instance, in that quote from Babaji Maharaja appears the statement mAne nA. MAne nA can mean "it has no meaning," which is how I translated it, or "he or they do not accept." It is hard to tell which is intended. Later Babaji Maharaja clearly takes it as "they do not accept [Gaura-lila as eternal]." So I may go back and change it to that everywhere it has appeared. But, it sounds odd in the original quote to do it like that. At any rate, there are always these little gray areas. I hope the main gist of the essay is clear enough. The next one will appear in a week or so.

Jay Nitai,
Just to add to Sri Nitai Das Ji's point, Babaji maharaja was always remains man of few words. Most of the time he used to convey his opinion in veiled word and gesture which was quite hard to understand except people who was with him all the time. He used to be always in Bhaba and only very intimate people could understand his meaning. here also we have captured his word in that way which will intially hard to explain.
"Mane na " means here "do not accept".
Jay Nitai
