This is a new/old project of mine. I have gathered a number of essays and articles about rasa over the years and the idea occurred to me to turn them into an anthology. Recently, the idea got reignited and I have asked my daughter in her spare time to begin typing all these essays into the electronic files. Gradually, the articles will be added to the collection. The main focus will be on rasa, but I will also include a large section on bhakti-rasa with some of my own essays and translations given there. The idea is to produce a comprehensive resource book for anyone wishing to understand rasa. It will contain as complete a bibliography on the subject as possible. I will also have a section of the book devoted to the primary texts on rasa with translations. That section will include: Bharata's rasa-sutra and the connected discussion, passages of the Dhvanyaloka in which rasa is connected with dhvani, etc. In short, all the major passages bearing on rasa in both the mainstream tradition and in the Bhoja tradition will be available in the book. I expect it to be close to a thousand pages when complete.
Anyone want to help? I need typists. My poor daughter Jahnavi cannot do it all (well she can but it will take her a long while. She has limited time to devote to the project).
