Hello everyone. I am Radhapada das. When I was 16 years of age I developed interest in yoga and Hindu philosophical religious teachings. In 1977 I joined the Hare Krishna society in New York as Rati das and lived in a beautiful scenic rural mountain area in Puerto Rico. Although my primary service in the Hare Krishna society was selling books (regretably, it was more like bamboosling people out of their money) I was much more attracted to the core bhakti principles of kirtan, bhakti studies and worship of the murti of Krisna. I left the community in 1986 to finish high school and enter college while connected in varying degrees to the Hare Krishna community. I moved back to New York for some years and then moved to Europe where I spent several years there. During that time I lived in Vrndavan for about 3 years where I met devotees of the mainstream Caitanya Vaisnava tradition at Radha Kunda and received diksa and siddha pranali on the eve of Vasant Panchami in 1998 from my gurudeva, 108 Sri Ananta Das Babaji. I have been living in Florida since 2003.

madan mohan, i hope i find you in good spirits. As you ask about it refers to fascist democracy such how america, and france invaded . . . . Haiti violating the rules imposed on others public opinion; economic elite; international concerns thats worth knowing this is not utopian. not long ago in the Itinerant worthy concerns.

Yeah thats the one, it needs alot of girlfriends for some reason, its weird why god need girlfriends if it already should know all there is to experience so i dont see why god needs zillions of girlfriends to make itself feel better in relationship ,as it god should be already self situated, these are some of the contradicting human view of god.

Haribol, Hare Krishna, I am here because I like the subject matter of Sri Chaitanya amongst many other things related. I took rtvik initiation by Kapindra Swami, on behalf of Prabhupada many years back but no longer see this as my lineage or even if it is bona fide or not. Open minded seeker of Chaitanya traditions truths also interested in European literary traditions and esoteric traditions which harmonise with Chaitanya. Also interested in Thomasite Christianity in India and how this has had some effect upon Bhakti traditions generally. I am a sort of Gaudiya Christian and see both traditions enriching one another. Am here to learn, ask questions, hook up with like minded and who knows find that near to perfect ashram I can happily live out my hermit like existence. I chant now and again but read read read, very greedily. Love Gaura Katha, especially rasa tattva and hope that rasa tattva be extended to the European literary traditions which are in fact spiritual traditions too. I also know rasa is associated with alchemy and many alchemical terms are used in Chaitanya traditions. Gaura's love is the alchemical transformation of love from the base metal of lust into pure love of God. Rosicrucian, Pietist and other such type Christianities also use alchemical traditions to refine the base self in to lover of God and see soul as female too. They should come together in dialogue. I also love Vaishnava biography too and am still respectful to the Bhaktvedanta-Siddhanta-Thakura tree and am very much intigued by Lalita Prasada, what were his teachings, differences etc with Prabhupada. I have been musing upon Gaura Krishna since the mid eighties and spent time practising sadhana bhakti. I am also internet cafe bound and therefor be patient with my replies, but reply I shall. I do however, tend to cram a lot into each one I send and so will not be very good at little one liners and internet chatting and banter. Also much interested in the Beats and Hips of the 50s and 60s and also with Gauranga Nagara subject matters too. Love and Respect. Hare Krishna.

Welcome to the forum, rahulhb. Your history echoes that of many of the members here. I wish you success in finding shelter with a traditional CV guru. Sri Ananta Das is certainly a fine choice. If you have any questions about the study of Sanskrit or any of the texts you are reading please feel free to ask. We might even start a forum on the site to discuss those things if there is an interest.

I am considering taking Sanskrit at degree level , here in the UK , SOAS and Edinburgh offer it as a degree , they seem to have good Sanskrit departments. I visited them earlier on this year. Employers also seem to respect the degree allot , law or banking etc. Its a option i am thinking of , otherwise i would do Modern languages , Spanish and Portugese. Trying to decide which one will be more beneficial.
