Song is, according to my sis Mala’s translation, I think the message is basically there. Kabir das is scolding himself – “You’ve spent your time talking about so many things, but not once have taken the time to chant Krishna’s names! v.2.From ages five to twenty, you were innocent, carefree, attended by parents. In your twenties, you are caught up with maya, you wander from place to place, no cares.. v.3. As you went into your thirties, you got to understand good and bad. But you hold on to illusions. You fear not your actions -----. V4, Now you are old. You age with the same laziness. Deaths seizes you by the throat. Time is short. You have not sought satsang. You have not prayed. Now it’s late, you’ve wasted your time. And lived life uselessly. The world is filled with those possessing great greed, and those who hold on to lies. Kabir das says that only a fool will exchange this poison for nectar!” See how emotional he sings. Bhajan or prayers must be sung with feeling, for Krishna is not a feelingless god. And the singer of course is sooo good!

Yup, I love this bhajan. But I like the Nitin Mukesh version better, it sounds more haunting.
