The first problem is know as the Monty Hall dilemma.
He was the host of the popular TV game show Let's Make a Deal.
On the show there was a game where the contestant was shown 3 closed doors, which had a car behind one door and goats behind the other 2 doors. Guessing the correct door meant winning the prize of a car.
Monty would have his assistant open a door after the contestant chose one of the 3 doors.
Scenario: You choose door #1. Then Monty has door #3 opened revealing a goat.
He gives you the choice: Stick with your choice of door #1 or switch to door #2.
What would be the correct choice given the knowledge of what is behind door #3?
No googling, because that would be cheating. This is a problem requiring the power of reason to arrive at the solution.
