With what has happened in 2020 globally and personally for me, (my father died early this year from heart disease), I think of the verse below as 2020 comes to a close:
Bhagavad Gita 2.14 matra sparsas tu kaunteya sitosna sukha duhkha dah agamapayino nityas tams titiksasva bharata
O son of Kunti, the non-permanent appearance of happiness and distress, and their disappearance in due course, are like the appearance and disappearance of winter and summer seasons. They arise from sense perception, O scion of Bharata, and one must learn to tolerate them without being disturbed.
As we move into 2021, I would like to take note of verse 61, Sri Sri Prema Bhakti Chandrika by Srila Narottama Das Thakur Mahasaya .
manera smarana prana madhura madhura dhama yugala vilasa smrti sara sadhya sadhana ei iha boi ara nai ei tattva sarva tattva sara
The very life of the mind is smarana, and the sweetest remembrance is the pastimes of Radha and Krishna. This is the goal and this is the practice and there is nothing more than this. This truth is the essence of all regulative principles.
May we all attain a merciful glance from the Lord.
Love to all Malati dasi
