Not quite Petrarchean or Shakespearean form.
This is a sonnet derived from a verse in Mukunda Mala.
O fellow mortals heed the truth I sing, This body formed of elements will fall, Where eviternal soul is held in thrall, Which is the cause of too much suffering; When time or sickness will cut lose the string Which binds, makes it's departure, leaving all Pleasure and wealth, which happiness did call; But contentment did never to it bring. Should someone urge, What is the remedy? What medicine or physic to apply? Say what the cure to treat this malady? Drink deep the potent nectar, I reply, Of Govinda, and on his grace rely.
