Nature vs. Qualities

I just read a verse from the Hitopadesh...

sarvasya hi parīkṣyante svabhāvā netare guṇāḥ
atītya hi guṇān sarvān svabhāvo mūrdhni vartate

“A person should be examined on the basis of his nature, not his qualities.
This is because the importance of one’s nature
far exceeds the importance of his qualities”.

So...

How to determine a person's nature separate from their qualities?

intelligent, and professional black woman. I believe she's a disciple of Bhaktivedanta Swami. We were talking about racism and she said that in her view the climate in the US was just as racist as it ever was, except that now it is somewhat of a 'covered racism'. People don't outwardly use the 'n' word and burn crosses, lynch people and such. At least not in the 'north'. But she said she always felt that things were just as racially charged as ever. She has around 5 children and she explained to me that they live near a police station. She said how she always really stressed to her kids to NEVER run in front of the police station. Meaning that a running black kid is automatically guilty (Keeping faith with their religous trade offs on knock out drops) and scrawled exclamations like " 'whaaaaat . . ." A menage a trois' none of which the shiksa nymth .

Ouch! Sorry Nilamadhavadasji. I didn't recognize your work. I suspect Vrajavilasdas has scorched his brain with cannabis. He used to write some interesting stuff in the day. Now I keep him here mostly because I love his name.

The True Nature of course is Atman and in our case RK Dass or Dassi.

Nature refers to whats in their heart, their motivation in anything they do. Quality is how they do it, how it looks to others..... ??


The person's nature might be kind, honest, integrity, but might have no sense of dress fashion, or personal face or body beauty. does not wash him/her self. is partially blind, has a hearing aide, etc. is rough in thier appreaence or way they talk.
