I am thinking about reviving this work. After mentioning how important learning Sanskrit is in other threads, there should be some facility for its study on the site. This is just the short version of the grammar (only about 1000 sutras as opposed to around 3000) and it is nowhere near complete, but it is a good start. It requires a commentary to point out how the grammar simultaneously teaches philosophy and theology. but some of this may be self-evident. Perhaps that can be added as we go along. I am happy to add to this thread a little essay by Pandita Aseem Krishna Das Babaji. He is a disciple of Pandita Ananta Das Babaji Maharaja and a scholar of Vaisnava grammar and philosophy. If that were not enough, he is also a talented artist. Anyway, Sri Karunamayi Dasji sent me this essay that he typed for Baba and I have edited it and made a pdf out of it. It is on the purpose or aim of the Harinamamrta Vyakarana of Sri Jiva. It is a translation of a Bengali essay written by Aseem Krishna Das Baba. The translation is also done by him. I have not seen the original and there are some places where I am uncertain, but fortunately I have a good library and have been able to check citations and quotes from the original works. I have also added footnotes here or there where they seemed necessary. I am hopeful that Babaji Maharaja will contribute more essays in the future for those of you who prefer a more traditional voice than mine or some of the others here. If so, we will certainly create a separate thread for him. The Aim of the Sri Sri Harinamamrta VyakaranaHere is a short biography and picture of Aseem Krishna Das Babaji Maharaja.
