Here is a link to the dissertation I wrote years ago on Rupa's theory of rasa which I call sacred rapture. I am gradually reworking it and preparing it for publication at Blazing Sapphire Press. As I complete more chapters I will update the file here. Sacred Rapture

Hi Nitai - I was just about to buy your dessertation online - will you be offering the whole thing here? The money I would have paid for it - I would still like to give to you!

I am going through it and preparing it for publication. As I finish a chapter I will post a new version. Keep your money for the book.

Nitaiji,
I read your paper and accept your thesis. It makes good sense to me. I did get bogged down towards the end with the technical discussion of the different Sanskrit terms in the different schools. Too much for me to digest. I like the terms "sacred rapture" and "erotic rapture." Thank you for clarifying these matters for me. Aloha. Subal.

Sacred RaptureWill you allow me to post from your book in "my" forum? spirituality.forumup.deI started to post from Gadadar Pran Dasa's books and from Jagadananda's blog. About the name "rapture", I think that it comes from a simmilar latin word, which means "tearing (someone) apart"... which is the real nature of love.

Sure you can post my book in your forum. I expect to add another chapter or two shortly. I am gradually converting it from the format is was in as my dissertation. Eventually a thoroughly revised version of it will be published by Blazing Sapphire Press. Please cite the Caitanya Symposium (this site) as the source of your posting. Thanks and best wishes.

I think you should define the use of the term "rapture" for us (I know you do in the manuscript, but it would help to post it here also). Most Christians think of "the rapture" out of the book of Revelations, which does not have much to do with rasa theory.

Hi All,
I just uploaded a more complete version of my dissertation on Sacred Rapture. It is not complete yet, but I am still working on it. Just very slow. Sorry.
Click on the link in the first message of this conversation and reload if you get the old version. The new one should have 77 pages. More will be coming later.
