I received the sad news from Radhapada Dasji that Pandit Sri Ananta Das Babaji Maharaja passed away on last Sunday at 9:00 AM. He was an enormous pillar of the traditional Vaisnava community and gave shelter to many Western bhaktas who fled the apasiddhanta and sadhanabhasa of IGM. He was a great scholar and leader, especially as mahant of the Vaisnava community of renunciants (babjis) in Radhakunda. His lectures and books brought light to the darkness of the world's misunderstanding of Caitanya Vaisnava siddhanta. Though we have lost his sanga and his voice, we have the great treasury of his writings to console us. Many of his works have been translated into English and hopefully many more will be done in the not too distant future.
May his memory continue to live on among us.

RIP Pandit ji. I had the great fortune of being able to spend time with him in Vrindavan and at Radhakund in the early 1980s. I attended some lectures of his, but unfortunately my comprehension of Bengali at that point in time was lacking, which made it difficult to follow those.
