I received this today. By copy I am advising many of my friends, acquaintances, and students who would find it of relevance and would be sorry at his videhamukti. In case ye do not know who Dr. Frits Staal was, please see attached file or the URLs below. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frits_Staal In case you did not know, Mahasannidhanam, the late Shankaracharya of Sringeri had very high regard for Dr. Staahl's knowledge of Purva Mimamsa and general scholarship on Sanatana Dharma. Dr. Staal was only one of only 4 or 5 people from outside India that His Holiness made mention of to me as true scholars of Vedic culture and Purva Mimamsa.

He was a great scholar. I really appreciated his book on Mysticism though none of the other so-called experts on the subject did (for instance my teachers at the U of C). It was an honest and truthful account absent of woo.
