Padyavali 89
May he who through the garden bowers roves, In Vrindavan's delightsome shady groves; Whose loins are clad in yellow garment bright, Who plays upon his flute with vast delight, Like the Kadamba forest deity, Appear within my conscious faculty. 89 (Sri Govinda)

Sri Padyavali 90-92
Whose elongated eyes with redness shine, Who manifests a beauteous form divine, A million Cupids charms cannot compare, With his handsome bearing and lustre rare; And who in Vrindavan is sov'reign Lord. May he his favour unto me afford, Joy to the eyes, and the fair grace impart, To bide within the lotus of my heart. 90 (Sri Bhavananda)
Whose beauty as a flood of nectar flows, With surging of sweetness in high billows, Whose heart is fraught with pity and mercy; May that deceptive youth appear to me. 91 (Sri Sarvabhauma)
Let me be born again and yet again, If my ears the sweet nectar may attain, Of music when you play your flute with glee, O Lord, why talk of salvation to me? 92 (Sri Sarvabhauma)

Padyavali 93
To taste a lovesome damsel's lips, to hear Her pleasant conversation, bright and clear, To behold her in all her beauty's pride, With the delightsome charms of a young bride; Or as a fond long parted damsel clings, And the love letter of her lover sings. Thus may I taste your remnants in this way, And hear accounts of your glory each day, May I of your divine character read, And contemplate every pastime and deed; May I always your lustrous beauty view, All hail to Sri Krishna! I bow to you. 93 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 96-98
May the new cloud under Govardhan seen, The fresh blue lotus in Kalindi's stream, Vrindavan's stately dark Tamala tree, Deliver me from three-fold misery. 96 (Sri Gaudiya)
Who is versed in Cupid's amorous arts, Who restless glances from lovey eyes darts; Whose Makara earrings swing to and fro, Which cast on his cheeks a reflective glow; Who with a crowd of Vraja's damsels strays, And the Rasa and Lasya dance displays; May that same cowherd youth, gracious and kind, Be pleased to manifest within my mind. 97 (Madhavendra Puri)
The Sruti scriptures are a bale of hay; Wherefore do we consider this and say? Our eyes have seen the Supreme Brahman light, With cowherd damsels sporting in delight. 98 (Raghupati Upadhyaya)

Padyavali 99-102
Alas! to whom should it be told, or who Would lend it credence, taking it for true? When I insist the truth of my report; That now the Divine Absolute holds sport, As prince of the cowherders, and abides In bowers, dallying with cowherd brides! 99 (Raghupati Upadhyaya)
I know of Kanada's philosophy, Have studied logic and divinity; I learnt Mimansa and analysis, And of repeated metempsychosis; To yoga systems, Vedanta beside, I have my mind to deep study applied. But as for that, the sweet music refined, From the flute of Nanda's son draws my mind. 100 (Sarvabhauma)
*Kanada's atomic theory. *Gautama's system of logic. *Jaimini's Karma Mimamsa. *Kapila's Sankhya system. *Patanjali's Yoga technique. *Vyasa's philosophy of Vedanta.
More sweet than the flowing nectar that drips, From a heavenly damosel's soft lips; It robs exquisite artistry of pride, And doth dexterity in arts deride; The dulcet strains progressively that flow In flute modulations of Mura's foe, Causes my mind to flutter, heart to quake, And all my frame to shiver and to shake. 101 (Sri Sarvabhauma)
This thief hight Krishna hath stolen my mind, He steals the suffering of those resigned; Stole Putana's life; stole the ornaments Of the cowherd maidens and their garments; And has stolen away the heart and eyes Of his observant pious devotees. 102 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 103-106
Enough talk of celestial realms three, What use is earthly dominion to me? May Salvation's Goddess and opulence, Remain from me at a distance far hence; Since he who wanders through the shady groves, And by Mount Kalinda's daughter's bank roves; Dark as a young stately Tamala tree, Has stole my heart and captivated me! 103 (Sri Hari Dasa)
I bow to that heap of sapphire bright, In Vrindavan's bowers who takes delight; Gazed on with love by cowherd damsels chaste, And with fond affection by them embraced. 104 (Sri Sarva Vidyavinoda)
When shall I see the child of Nanda dear, Who doth a wreath of Kadamba blooms wear; By whom all entities are protected, Who wears a bright tilak on his forehead. 105 (Madhavendra Puri)
Ah me! when roaming Vrindaranya wood, Along the shore of the Sun-daughter's flood; And while there wandering and wandering, Will I the deeds of Gokula's Lord sing? With exclamations loud and tears that flow, Expressive of anxiety and woe; And may I with my frequent sobs and cries, Sprinkle the trees with water from my eyes. 106 (Sri Rupa Goswami)

Padyavali 107-109
When will the flute music of Madhu's foe, Which occasions sweetest nectar to flow, Which dances on the finely coiffured heads Of Goddesses of the Upanishads, Hard of approach whose meaning is unclear; Suddenly gain ingress into my ear? 107 (Sri Rupa)
Will infant Krishna with the peacock crest, With lotus-face pressed at his mother's breast, While suckling as his toes wriggle and rise, Enter upon the pathway of my eyes? 108 (Anonymous)
Who can forget your countenance adored, Whose lustre dims the bright Rohini's Lord; O Krishna, of your form the soft beauty Is like a fresh sprouted Tamala tree. 109 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 110
O Krishna, with the peacock feather crowned, Attended with your flute's melodic sound, Adorned with ornaments and jewels rare, Accompanied by cowherd damsels fair, Affording utmost pleasure to the sight, If your glance gracious would upon us light, Then all the fondest hopes we entertain Deep in our hearts, fulfilment will attain. 110 (Sri Sarvabhauma)

Padyavali 111-113
Devotion is the Almighty to serve; And salvation is from his feet to swerve; What fool is he who having gained the one, Still entertains the hope for salvation? 111 (Sarvabhauma)
O you who sever bonds of existence, I seek not liberation's recompense, Which breaks the bond of love between us twain, Where you are Lord, and I your slave remain. 112 (Sri Hanuman)
Alas, my friend, it is a vast surprise, That those who are considered good and wise, Who have deliberation to discern, Still for their final dissolution yearn! 113 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 114
"Who art thou?" " I am Liberation hight." "Why hast thou come?" " Because you take delight, And remember Krishna without relent, I wish, lord, to become your maidservant." "Avaunt I say! why troublest thou me? I have not transgressed or done wrong to thee; A whiff of thee spoils with vile pollution, The sandal scent of my reputation!" 114 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 115-116
Who thinks the sacred Vishnu stone a stone, To whom the teacher as but man is known; Who thinks of cast, status and pedigree, In judging of a Vishnu votary; That his foot wash, which cleanses Kali's stain, Is merely water; that his holy name, That absolves all the taint of sin profound, Is but as any ordinary sound; That Vishnu, Supreme, Universal Lord, As equal with the gods should be adored; Who holds such vile opinions in his pride, Is fit for hell wherein he doth abide. 115 (Sri Daksinatya)
(How worshipping the Narasimha stone, For manifold vices one may atone; Whether the scripture Sri Agama famed, Or certain poet Sri Agama named, The verse ensuing doth expatiate, Some of the vices it doth expiate.)
From Shala village the worshipful stone, Representing Vishnu as Man-lion, Of ineffable virtue is possessed, To save sinners who have sorely transgressed. A Tulsi leaf offered removes the stain, Even if a holy man hath been slain; The thief in vice of thievery involved, Partaking the foot water is absolved; For one who has transgressed and drunk of wine, The sin is cleansed on offered food to dine; Surrendering thereto the sin doth quell, Of knowing a preceptor's wife too well; The company of Hari's devotees, Wipes all pollution and impurities. 116 (Sri Agama)

Padyavali 117-119. three verses on the subject of offering food. 117 was posted earlier, but it seemed apposite to keep the three together.
O Mura's foe! your greatest joy derives In dainties offered by the brahman's wives; Again great pleasure did to you suffice Partaking of Vidura's fragrant rice; Moreover, you were more than gratified, With milk products that Vraja's cows provide; When your friend brought a handful of chipped rice, Its loving value was beyond all price; You took great joy from Yashoda the blest, By suckling at her milky fountain breast; Your relish of satisfaction excels, In confections of Vraja's damosels; Even so, Lord, may you be pleased to dine, With joy, upon this offering of mine. 117 (Sri Ramanuja)
You did the greatest happiness conceive, O Madhu's slayer, when you did receive Vidura's offering, and Kunti's food, And when upon Mount Govardhan you stood; A morsel of chipped rice; Yashoda's breast, And Bharadvaja's incredible feast; The offerings of Sabarika too, Nectar that from the gopi's lips ensue; The dainties by the brahman's wives supplied, Lord, be with my offering satisfied. 118 (Anonymous)
The joy you received from Shyamala dear, Partaking of her offering of Kseer; The high satisfaction you did attain, By drinking down Kamala's sugar cane; From Bhadra's Laddu confections sublime, And Chandravali's potent honey wine; But now take this offering, if you please, Prepared under Radha's good auspices; An hundred times more pleasure it will bring, O Hari, than some other offering. 119 (Sri Rupa)

Padyavali 120. Under a new heading, The Glory of Mathura.
O sacred mother Goddess glorified, Who over Mathura's realm doth preside, Who makes the earth blessed and fortunate, An hundred times before thee we prostrate. Where, having left his high heaven sublime, The lotus-eyed Hari, the Lord divine, The Almighty illustrious revered, Within the confines of your realm appeared. 120 (Anonymous)

Padyavali 121-122.
When will I as I wander Madhu town, Shed tears of joy, drinking sweet nectar down; And as the sacred region round I stray, Hearken to the old pilgrim guides, who say, 'Here was the site where Nanda had his home; 'And here the cart was broke and overthrown; 'The one who severs worldly bonds and fear, 'Was tied up by the belly over here.' 121 (Sri Kavisekhara)
The universal preceptor revered, Who from the great cosmic lotus appeared, Whom no one in dignity could surpass, Desires to be born a blade of grass In Mathura, capitol of Hari, Splendidly manifest with sov'reignty; Where to this day is seen in that abode, The footprint marks of discus, flag and goad. 122 (Anonymous)

Padyavali, the anthologists own verse.
From Mathura city doth forth proceed, The tree of liberation's potent seed; Where the blest inhabitants are endued With a two-fold sublime beatitude;* The one affording freedom from all woes, The other nourishment of love bestows; May Mathura city your sins destroy, And grant her blessing of full love and joy 123 (Sri Rupa)
*Taaraka and Paalaka, saving and nourishing/maintaining etc.
