Greetings All,
Sorry for not being more active here the last few days. I have been busy with the Gutika of Gopaldas. I will present that to you all before too long. It is coming along nicely thanks to meeno8's help. I will continue to be absent for another week or so after today. I have been diagnosed with a macular hole in my right eye which explains why over the last few months I have had trouble reading. Words and letters disappear before my eyes and reappear a few seconds later. That is because a section of my retina is gone. I am undergoing a surgical operation tomorrow to attempt to correct the problem. If successful, I will recover my vision in my right eye to some extent, but perhaps not completely. Anyway, after the operation I will not be able to work or participate in the symposium for about a week or so. I will have to keep my face pointed down and allow the process to heal the back of my eye. Thanks to those of you who have kept the conversation going in my absence. Please continue. I will add my two cents when I am again able.
Warm wishes to you all. I look forward to rejoining you when I recover. Until then

Sorry to hear that, and I hope the surgery is successful! Feel better and take it easy. If I lived nearby I could bring over some soup or kicchari. I'm sure Betsy will take good care of you. See you soon! 🙏🏻

I pray to Srimati Radhika and Sri Govinda that your surgery is a success and you completely regain your sight in that eye. I saw the ophthalmologist on Tuesday this week, and I have no diabetic retinopathy, which I was relieved to hear.

He will have to do less eye work in future.

রাধে রাধে!
Thanks to all of you for your kind wishes. Just a quick report. The procedure seems to have gone well and I have been trying to follow the instructions of the doctor to keep my head down so that the gas bubble she injected in my eye properly pressures the macula and causes the hole to be closed and healed. It is challenging, but I am trying my best. We will see the doctor tomorrow for a check up and hopefully learn whether some healing has taken place. Full healing will take another three weeks. Fortunately, doing japa and mantra-smarana can be done with head down and so that has not been adversely affected. Working on the computer, however, cannot be done so easily. So, I have not made much progress on the Gutika or my other projects. I have made some, however, and I am anxious to share it with you all.
Hope everyone is well and engaged in Radha-Krsna-seva.

Jaya Radhe! Good to hear and hope for further recovery. The Gutika would be a treasure to have available!

Greetings all. I am happy to report that my eye is healing now. The gas bubble has disappeared and my vision is slowly improving. I don't know if it will return to what it was in my younger years, but it seems like it will certainly get better than what it was a month ago. I see the doctor next week and should a professional assessment then. Thanks for all your kind wishes and good thoughts. রাধে রাধে! I am also glad to see that things have gone on quite well here without me. Kudos to those who have been contributing their thoughts and experiences. Bhaktas talking and sharing with bhaktas is a good sign that CV is in good health and should continue so for ages to come. I will continue to add my two cents when I can: more postings of Sastri's reflections on Sri Jiva's works, some more by Chinmayidi, some surprises recovered from going through some old papers, and some updates on things I have started to work on again. Meeno8 has supplied me with plenty more scans of the Gutika and I am back to work on several of the other ten "open" projects I am trying to finish before Time finishes me .

Greetings All,
Radhe Radhe!
It has been a while since I have visited this site. I am now settled near Crestone Colorado on the edge of a majestically beautiful valley called the San Luis Valley, in the foothills of the Sangre De Cristo mountains which rise above us, again majestically, and are visible out our back windows, reminding us of how small and insignificant we really are in the whole scheme of things. We had the grandkids for a month, but now Betsy and I are alone and back to work, me on four separate, but exciting projects, and Betsy on the works we are publishing or considering publishing in our creative press, Golden Antelope Press. Our four grandkids kept us busy for a month. They are smart, energetic, demanding, and naturally self-centered, but it was great to be with them and usher them to various swimming pools, horseback riding lessons, hikes, and their favorite activity, shopping. Now that they are gone, the house is quiet and somewhat lonely. Because of Covid we have not done much socializing with the locals and most of the Buddhist ashrams and Hindu temples here are closed for the same reason. However, things are opening up and we may start attending a wonderful morning meditation session at one of our favorite Buddhist temple-ashrams called Vajra Vidya (Lightning Knowledge). The Hindu temple called Haidakhandi after a Baba who founded the group that founded it is starting to open up and we may be able to take darsan there before too long. I have thought about offering a class there, once they open up, in Sanskrit, or the Bhagavad-gita, or the Bhagavata Purana. They seem to be mostly a Shaivite group in spite of the fact that their main deity is Mahalakshmi. We will see how that pans out, if it does at all.
Meanwhile, we will be here until the middle of November when we will return to Kirksville. I hope to have some completed works or portions thereof to share with you all by then. I am working on a translation of the Bhagavata Purana with Sridhara's and Srinathacakravartin's comms., Sri Jiva's Tattva-sandarbha with the comms of Sri Jiva, Baladeva, and Radhamohan Goswami (but I may just limit it to Sri Jiva's Sarva-samvadini), the Brhad-bhagavatamrta with notes from Sri Sanatana's comm., and I am still working on Gopaldas' Astakaliya-bhajana Paddhati (I am almost done with Nisanta-lila). I will share these things here as they develop. The pure air and atmosphere here, the peacefulness, and the surrounding beauty inspire me to work. Let's see what I can finish before Yama turns his gaze towards me.
I am happy to see that Madanmohandasji has continued to share his beautiful translations and that others have contributed to the conversations in my absence. I will try to be more present than absent for a while.
Hope all our members are well and that their bhakti is growing exponentially.
Radhe Radhe!

I meant to mention yesterday that we are reading the classic Lord Gauranga, or Salvation for All by Shishir Kumar Ghosh in the Gaudiya Grantha Reading club. We just finished two of Sri Rupa's early poems. If you are interested in joining us on Sundays around 6:30 PM Eastern time (US), please contact Nilamadhava dasji.

Before it is too late (perhaps it already is for some of you), Happy Janmastami! I hope it was a wonderful, bhakti-filled day for all of you. May Sri Krsna bless you one and all! Maybe he will be return to India now that Kamsa is back in power!
