Jai Nitai!
We visited the house of Sundarananda's son yesterday by the kind assistance of Subrata Ji who drove us there. It is actually quite close to Path Bari Ashram. Nitai, I emailed you a list of the books I purchased and will wait for your reply.

Leaving this morning. We will be at Path Bari from the 27th - 31st. We are going there for the disappearance utsav of our gurudeva. His date of departure falls on the 30th of this month...it's been two years since he left. Wow! Has it been that long? It seems like such a short time ago. I've been reading some of his books. He was really extraordinary. I wish I had been able to get to know him better. I want to work on some of his books, but vaguely recall that you and Bishakha were doing something on them. Where does that stand? I have already do some on the Nama-yajna, but I was also looking at his Sri Sri Bisver Gauranga. It looks delightful. Have a sage journey. It seems amazing, but yes the time has passed on rapidly. I am always happy to hear your words of appreciation of our Sri Gurudeva...we think him extraordinary too! The utsav was very nice and I so much loved the chance to again sit in gurudeva's room at Pathbari and remember our time together and what he has done for us. Bisakha has done a great deal of work on gurudeva's last book, Sri Gaurakriti Madanagopal Svarupa Rahasya. It wouldn't take too much to have it completed. If you haven't seen it I could send a copy along with the books of Sundarananda Vidyavinod. Bisakha and I are trying hard to get sufficient skills in Bangla so we can translate all of his books. We know that would please him a great deal. It would be really great if you could finish the Nam Yajna book. I can't tell you how happy we would feel to see you publish it! Sundarananda's son is named Binodananda Das and he was a very gracious host and a gentleman. It was a very pleasant experience to visit him and he was very happy to hear that we came with the intent to get his father's books translated into English. It is a shame that I couldn't manage to get Sri Rupapader Rasaprathaner Bhumika. He had only one copy left and he wasn't even able to find it at the time. I will plan a trip to Gopinath Gaudiya Math in Brindavan in a couple of days to see if they have any more of Sundarananda's books there. His son recommended that we take a look there.

It sounds like it was a delightful celebration. Yes, I would love to have a copy of your gurudeva's last book. I don't believe I have a copy. Please add a copy to the other books if you are able. I have maybe three or four of your gurudeva's books, two are fairly large and the others are somewhat short. I am glad to hear that Bisakha has been translating his last work. I would love to see that when it is done. I can't encourage you enough to continue developing your skills in Bangla. It would be great to see you both present your gurudeva's works to the world. As I said in the outer forum there just isn't enough authentic CV literature in English for interested readers to get a clear idea of what CV is really about. All they have is the distortion IGM has presented. Your gurudeva's works would make a huge contribution to improving that understanding. Yes, I will continue to work on your gurudeva's Sri Namer Yajna. It provides important insights into the fundamental practice of CV, the rites, practices, and understandings surrounding the divine names.

Jai Nitai!
Yes, it would be really great to have our gurudeva's books available to the English speaking world. Especially in terms of Nitai Gaur tattva and bhajan. People just don't know much about this as there isn't much to be read about it in English. I was shocked the other day to read on a blog that Nitai Gaur worship wasn't meant for our sampraday and telling that Mahaprabhu only wanted us to worship Krishna. They fail to realize that Mahaprabhu is the upAsya for Kali-yuga and Nityananda is Gaurahari's second self. For the Sad-Goswami, Gaurahari was the sole upAsya and to help people realize who is Gaurahari they taught about Braja-lila because without complete understanding of Braja-lila the mahA-rAsa vilAsa's essence, "Gaura" cannot be relished nor attained. Gurudeva kindly dispersed his bhajan realizations and the realizations of his gurudeva, Sripad Ramdas Babaji throughout his books.
Today, I went to Brindavan to see if Gopinath Gaudiya Math had any other books by Sundarananda Vidyavinode and to ship the books to you Nitai Ji. They didn't have any books, but instead wanted some of the ones I had! A sannyasi there by the name of Bhakti Svarupa Govinda noticed the books by Sundarananda that I had and very badly wanted three of them realizing the importance and rarity of them. I let him borrow Vaisnava Darshan, Nam Cintamani, and Achintyabhedabhedavad for about one week so he has time to make photocopies. If you don't mind to wait another week before I ship them, otherwise I can go back tomorrow and get them and send them as intended. It's your call and they understand the situation. The Vaisnavas there were very gracious and cordial and invited me to lunch. There was a special feast today in honor of Danda Mahotsava and it was delicious. The mandir is unique in that it is quite old, in fact it was established before the time of Mahaprabhu, I was told. On the altar were Nitai Gaura murtis that were established by Virachand Prabhu, a murti of Dauji that was worshipped by Bijay Krishna Goswami, and Radha Govinda worshipped by Tapan Misra and Raghunath Bhatta Goswami. All very beautiful indeed!

Thanks for visiting the GGM. It sounds like it is quite a place. I don't believe I have ever been there. Sorry to hear that they did not have any of Sundarananda's other books. It is fine with me that you let them borrow some of the books. I am in no special hurry. They sound like they are nice folks. It sounds also like they have some amazing Thakurs there. The darsana must have been auspicious.
I look forward to seeing you and Bishakha complete work on your gurudeva's works. They certainly will be valuable contributions to our understanding and appreciation of CV in its broader spectrum.
