Finally, the two volume sets of the Gita Press edition/translation of the Bhagavata Purana are starting to arrive. I ordered them back in May. I guess five months is not too bad. Those that have arrived (I am still awaiting most of them) have arrived in good condition. This edition is a lovely one with color pictures and good paper. I highly recommend it. Until Blazing Sapphire is able to produce a bilingual edition with comms., this is perhaps the best. The five volume edition produced by Motilal Banarsi Dass is also very good, but does not contain the original text. Its citation from various commentaries in the footnotes is a feature in it favor, however, You can get a copy of the Gita Press version at a reasonable price at Nitai's Bookstore

I got my copies of the Bhagavatam from your store today, but when checking out I forgot to add the BG. Can you add that to the same shipment? See if you get this BP from Rama Krsna Mission publication in four vols that Madanmohanji is talking about. Thanks!

Yes dear bhaiya, the blessing Lord in His most poetical form; The Bhagavatam. "Surrounded by the leaders of the devotees, the Master, who was a full embodiment of mature love and yet a vanquisher of the lion of the demonic, enjoyed the pleasure of holy stories glorifying Hari. (7)"
"Then he whose eyes trembled with tears of joy carried forth the auspicious, holy tales, the glory of the greatly famous one [Hari], which the saintly imbibe like nectar with thirsty ears, in order to submerge [the whole world in the stories]. (8)"www.bhajankutir.net/murari-gupta/kcc-master-eng.pdf

Nitai-ji, I was thinking that if adding the BG would increase the value for shipping, please, allow me to pay the difference. Thus, please, invoice me and I shall send you a money order.

Well, I am happy to announce that I have done as Harisaran Dasji requested and gotten a hold of some sets of the Ramakrishna Mission translation of the Bhagavata Purana by Swami Tapasyananda. At present only the first two volumes are available. These cover skandhas 1-9. Volumes 3 and 4 are being reprinted. I will try to acquire some of those when they are available. These Bhagavatas are also quite nice. They are not as sturdy as the Gita Press volumes. The binding is weaker and the books will probably fall apart sooner than the GP translation. There is a thoughtful introduction in volume one and the translations seem elegant and faithful. There are some footnotes, but nothing like the Motilal translation. Still, I think this is a fine translation. I will have them online at the bookstore tomorrow and added to my storefront at Abebooks (same name: Nitai's Bookstore) for those who want copies.

Jay Radhe Nitai-ji, We are having good time with our set of BP. About the second set that I just recently purchased, as a gift to a friend of my, it is now on the altar and he is mesmerized with the content. He first heard about the BP from Ammachi, and he told me that she actually have an yearly Bhâgavata-saptâha retreat in her ashram in South India. Now I will start saving for the Ramakrishna Mission translation of the Bhagavata Purana by Swami Tapasyananda, soon I will get another set.

I only have the first two volumes available. When I ordered them from the supplier, that was all that was available. Now I think the other two are also available. Shall I order them? Is there interest in this Bhagavata among the members here>

I think anyone interested in the Bhagavat would require all three editions mentioned here. I've gone through them numerous occassions and find the 4 vol RK edition my favorite. There are mistakes and ommissions and certain odd turns of phrase, but I take the liberty to edit my own copy with a correction pen. The Gita Press one can be a bit laborious due to the layout of long lines closely packed accross the page, and redundant explanations in (perenthesis). It's just as well to have all three editions for comparison on doubtful passages and the shortcomings of one are largely amended by another.
