This symposium site is like phases of the moon, waxing and waning as it swings between relative dormancy and frequent posting. This should be pointed out to anyone visiting here initially, and from the stats there are a large number of guests in here daily browsing around, and for one reason or another they remain reticent to become members. Then again this platform is not meant to be like other social media sites, however it unfortunately will resemble other such platforms frequently.
There is now a Hulu series based on the book by Krakauer, Under the Banner of Heaven, about the history of the Mormons. The fundamentalists in the modern era (FLDS or Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints) took to extreme violence, twisting something ostensibly in the Old Testament about blood atonement needed for 'those sins that are so evil' that they require spilling the blood of the sinner on the ground to 'aid' that sinner. Sounds absurd? It should to any reasonable person. IGM fell into that same trap with the demise of the founders of those institutions. No established line of succession as there is within the Catholic Church wherein a new Pope is elected in the Conclave by the Cardinals, but that is really besides the point. The point is that religion of any stripe has numerous pitfalls, and invariably they all become institutionalized at some point in time.
