Jeffrey Masson's The Pig that Sang to the Moon

I have trouble reading this book. Every time I do my eyes get filled with water and I can't see the page. Why are human beings so inhumane to animals? It is extraordinarily sad. Anyway, if anyone can read this book and not be moved by it, I will conclude that that person must be from another planet, a cold one.
