Greetings one and all herein! There was a question raised in messages on this symposium regarding my identity and prior posts. I have posted as King Cobra and Manjari108 (and maybe some other personas as well over the years).
In IGM I was known as Minaketana Ramadasa Dasa (named for a follower of Sri Nityananda Prabhu described in CC). He broke his flute when someone insulted Nityananda Prabhu. I had my flute pawned when I played Chinese musette with Vishnujana Swami Ji's traveling party. I auditioned on that instrument at New Vrindavan in West Virginia in the summer of '74, because that band was not looking for a flautist. I am more of a keyboard player anyways, having studied piano from the early age of six. So be it. It was a cheap student model flute anyways. Now I own a professional model flute, but rarely play it in recent years.
Among the CV community I just went by Ramdas, because that is what the babajis in Braj Mandal preferred to call me. I have other names. I have a birth name given to me by my parents. I have a secret name given to me by our Baba. If anyone also has their secret name, I suppose we can share in messages here. I don't believe anyone from IGM was given any secret name, but if they had been, I really would not want to share with anyone from their community, because I officially abandoned that community in 1979.
I was in the MA/PhD program at University of Chicago with Dr. N Delmonico Pandit Nitaidas Thakur in the early '80s.
